Silom is easier to think about as three stretches. Which one you are in changes very little about the service and quite a lot about how long the therapist takes to reach you.
The eastern end has both a BTS and an MRT station on top of each other, which is the fastest part of Silom to reach. The western end towards the river runs slower, and if you are past Surasak the riverside area page may match your address better.

Silom has more conventional hotel stock than Sathorn does, and a good share of it is four star business hotels rather than resorts. Private condominiums on the Silom sois and along Convent Road are covered the same way.

Booking around an office day
Silom is a working street. It fills between 8 AM and 9 AM and empties again after 6 PM, and the two BTS stations carry most of that. If you are booking for the evening, anything after about 7.30 PM will reach you at the faster end of the range.
The exception is Friday. Silom stays busy later on a Friday than the rest of the week, and the streets around Sala Daeng in particular stay congested well past 9 PM. Book with a little more notice if you want a specific time on a Friday evening.

Choosing a treatment
Traditional Thai massage is the usual first booking for anyone who has been at a desk. You stay clothed, no oil is used, and the therapist works with palm and thumb pressure combined with assisted stretching, which is what makes it useful for stiffness from sitting.
An oil massage does the same muscle groups with continuous strokes and no stretching, and aromatherapy is the slower version of that with essential oils. Deep tissue is the firmest and works best aimed at one place rather than the whole body.

What happens in the room
The therapist brings a portable table or mat, fresh linen and oils where they are used. You provide a clear floor space roughly the size of a single bed and nothing else. No shower access is needed.
For Thai massage you stay in loose clothing throughout. For oil based treatments you undress to your underwear and stay covered with a towel, with only the area being worked on uncovered. The therapist steps out while you get ready either way.
